Did you realise that before you were born, God already had a plan for your life?
Ephesians 2:10 (NKJV) For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.
When God created each of us He prepared us to accomplish a task on this earth.
Many people chase careers and riches their whole life and then when they retire, they sit down and wait to die. God has a greater plan for us, He wants us to leave a legacy. Yes, a financial legacy is great, but money does not last. We can leave a far greater legacy, we can build people up and leave a lasting impact in their lives.
My first challenge is this: Do you know what God’s planned good works are that you still need to accomplish? How are you progressing with them? Whose life do you need to impact?
Caleb at 90 went back to war to possess the remaining portion of his allotment of the Promised land. What is it that you need to complete? God wants you to bear fruit into your old age!
Psalm 92:12-14 (NKJV) The righteous shall flourish like a palm tree, He shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon. 13 Those who are planted in the house of the Lord Shall flourish in the courts of our God. 14 They shall still bear fruit in old age; They shall be fresh and flourishing,
“BUT I’M TIRED AND NO ONE CARES ABOUT ME ANYWAY!”
You may say, “I’m old and forgotten, no-one is interested in me anymore, not even God and to top it all, I just no longer have strength for this!” What does God say?
Isaiah 40:27-31 (NKJV)”Why do you say, O Jacob, And speak, O Israel: “My way is hidden from the Lord, And my just claim is passed over by my God”? 28 Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the Lord, The Creator of the ends of the earth, Neither faints nor is weary. His understanding is unsearchable. 29 He gives power to the weak, And to those who have no might He increases strength. 30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, And the young men shall utterly fall, 31 But those who wait on the Lord Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.
My second challenge is this: Are you feeling tired and unimportant? Ask God to give you a new perspective on life!
GOD’S PROMISE TO YOU TODAY
Isaiah 46:3-4 (NKJV) “Listen to Me, O house of Jacob, And all the remnant of the house of Israel, Who have been upheld by Me from birth, Who have been carried from the womb: 4 Even to your old age, I am He, And even to gray hairs I will carry you! I have made, and I will bear; Even I will carry, and will deliver you.
This promise is both for now, and for eternity! Psalm 23:6 (NKJV) Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the Lord Forever.
No matter what your age, may the Lord grant you strength and carry you as you run to achieve His purpose for your life.
