ENCOURAGEMENT FOR THE DAY
THE IMPORTANCE OF CONFESSING SINS
Psalm 66:18 (NLT) If I had not confessed the sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened.
The New King James version of this verse says, “If I regard iniquity in my heart, The Lord will not hear.” Un-dealt with sin in our heart is a separator, it separates us from God and causes our prayers to reach a brass ceiling. But in Christ we have forgiveness if we are willing to confess our sins to God.
Psalm 66:19-20 (NLT) But God did listen! He paid attention to my prayer. 20 Praise God, who did not ignore my prayer or withdraw his unfailing love from me.
But God did listen! What a testimony. We can’t hide our sins from God! Let us be open and honest before Him, confessing our sins with repentant hearts. We will find that our God does not ignore our prayers. He is a wonderful, prayer-answering Father who is waiting for us to call on His name.
